About the Center

What the Center does

The Creative Engineering Education Center promotes the new engineering education for training "value-creation" professionals in Nagoya Institute of Technology, mainly through the Creative Engineering Program. It consists of three departments: The Department of Educational Planning and Evaluation, the Department for Industrial-Academic-Government Collaboration, and the Department of International Partnerships. Details about what each of these departments does are given below.

 

Department of Educational Planning and Evaluation

This department develops educational resources needed to conduct the new education in Nagoya Institute of Technology, especially those required by the Creative Engineering Program. It also takes charge of evaluating their outcomes.

  • Developing educational materials, methods, and systems for self-regulated study
  • Promoting the engineering design education needed to train effective value-creation professionals
  • Promoting faculty development of the above initiatives
  • Evaluating the educational results and outcomes of the above initiatives

 

Department for Industrial-Academic-Government Collaboration

This department promotes the new education in Nagoya Institute of Technology, particularly in the Creative Engineering Program, by collaborating with industry.

  • Arranging partner companies for sending students participating in research internships
  • Developing learning environments and educational materials for the research internships
  • Promoting project-based learning courses in collaboration with industry
  • Promoting engineering design courses and developing educational materials in conjunction with business professionals

 

Department of International Partnerships

This department promotes the new education in Nagoya Institute of Technology, particularly in the Creative Engineering Program, by developing international partnerships.

  • Developing overseas partnerships that will accept students participating in research internships
  • Providing education on safety for students participating in research internships
  • Fostering the global mindset that today’s engineers need to be effective
